This section contains tools and resources that underpin the four pillars of the Junior Athlete Education (JAE) Talent Framework: Recognising, Guiding, Supporting and Inspiring Talent. The tools that make up the JAE Talent Support family are designed to provide schools with high-quality off-the-shelf resources to help them fulfil the potential of talented young people.
The tools and resources:
Multi-skills Academies (MSAs) and Regional Multi-skills Academies (RMSAs) are designed to help recognise and support talented performers at Key Stages 2 and 3, fulfilling Pillar 1 and 3 of the JAE Framework. MSAs apply the principles of multi-skills development, enabling young people to develop a higher level of physical skills, rather than sport specific skills. The primary purpose of MSAs is to support primary to secondary transition for gifted and talented pupils. RMSA’s take this development further with greater challenges for the young people and to develop innovation.
JAE Life-skill Workshops and Booklets are tools that support (Pillar 3) talented young people. Along with Performance Parents, the I eXcel Card, Mentoring and the National Talent Orientation Camp, all these resources can assist schools in providing important support that can help young people at Key Stages 4 and 5.
There is a page on Role Models and ideas around how schools can develop their own role models or bring in external role models to inspire (Pillar 4) talented performers.
