The Physical Education Quality Standards for Talent Development
The Youth Sport Trust has been working with key partners Dave Morley (Leeds Metropolitan University) and Professor Richard Bailey (Roehampton University) to publish the first subject specific Gifted & Talented quality standards – the Physical Education Quality Standards for Talent Development.
The Physical Education Quality Standards for Talent Development is a self-evaluation tool for schools and teachers to benchmark and assess the quality of their policy, provision and practice for their talented pupils in PE. This document also supports ongoing improvements in the quality of teaching and learning in PE and school sport, and seeks to raise the expertise level of practitioners and their schools towards high quality provision of G&T in physical education.
Why should I read this document?
This document offers guidance on how schools might improve the quality of Gifted and Talent provision to meet the needs of their pupils in PE. Every school has Gifted and Talented pupils, and these pupils, once identified, require high quality teaching and support to help them fully realise their potential.
