The Youth Sport Trust is seeking applications for the 2009-10 STARS (Supporting Talented Athletes on the Road to Success) Squad Scholarships. To be considered, schools must meet four criteria:

• At least four high-performing young athletes in any sport
  
• A desire and commitment to developing a squad culture
  
• An understanding of the specific difficulties facing their talented young athletes
  
• The inspirational leadership of an identified practitioner who has the time and ambition to work innovatively.

Who can apply?

Scholarships are for £5,000. Applications are sought from Gifted and Talented leads, Heads of PE and Headteachers.
