UK School Games reception

Richard Caborn with UKSG Champion AmbassadorPresident of the UK School Games, Richard Caborn is holding a reception at the House of Commons today to celebrate the forthcoming UK School Games which are taking place in south Wales from 3 to 6 September.
 
The UK School Games are organised by the Youth Sport Trust and comprise of a four-day multi-sport event for the UK’s elite young athletes of school age. It seeks to create an inspirational and motivational setting which encourages more young people to take part and succeed in sport. This year the Games will attract over 1600 competitors across ten sports – Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Fencing, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Swimming, Table Tennis and Volleyball.
 
The reception will take place at the House of Commons Terrace Pavilion from 4pm. It will prove to be a fantastic platform to showcase this year’s Games and an opportunity to meet those involved in organising the event. Attending the event will be a number of past competitors and representatives from across the sporting landscape as well as MPs and corporate partners.
