Wednesday, 22 April 2009

UKSG spectatorsDo you fancy watching future Olympic and Commonwealth stars compete across 10 sports in six venues? Tickets are now on sale for the biggest multi-sport event to take place in Wales for 50 years and we want your support. Tickets start from £3.50 per session but two days and multi-venue tickets can also be purchased from £5.50 and £6.00 respectively.

If you don’t want to be a spectator but fancy taking part as a volunteer, the UK School Games will require 350 local volunteers to be recruited, trained and deployed prior, during and after the four day multi-sport event. From Athlete Village Assistants to Team Attachés, the UK School Games Wales will provide a unique opportunity for local people to volunteer at a major sports event.

UKSG Ambassador, Darren Campbell talked about his experiences of volunteering:

“As a young athlete trying to forge a career in sport I was supported by a team of volunteer coaches and support staff. Volunteers play a critical role in the provision of high-quality opportunities for young people to compete. Volunteering at the UK School Games provides a unique opportunity to develop new skills and experience what has become a major event in the UK's sporting calendar.”

If you like a challenge, want to develop new skills and want to be part of a fun and engaging atmosphere then volunteering at the UK School Games could be for you. For more information on volunteer opportunities email us at volunteers@ukschoolgames.com.
