Craig HeapThe Inspiring School Sport website has been updated with some fantastic new content so please check it out! Each term, a theme will be chosen to lead the content of the website. Our first theme is Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week and gives you ideas of what’s been done and what to do for this special event.

You’ll find detailed cases studies in the PE and Sport section and teacher resources and photos in the School inspired athletes section along with a video of Olympic gymnast Craig Heap. He talks honestly about his career that spanned 20 years and his work now as an athlete mentor. You can also find out to set up a Student Organising Committee in the Growing inspirational people area.

The homepage is regularly updated so don’t forget to check it every week to keep up with our latest news. The next theme will be Young Ambassadors and will go live in the summer.

The Youth Sport Trust is responsible for the PE and sport strand of LOCOG’s Get Set Education programme and the Inspiring School Sport website is the communication channel for this work. Other organisations look after the other strands of the programme. There are eight strands in total. The website was launched to coincide with the Olympic and Paralympic handover to London from Beijing in September 2008.
